Edward Jay Epstein (born 1935) is an American journalist. Epstein attended Cornell University during the 1960s, where he received his BA. Epstein was an early critic of the Warren Commission. His Masters thesis, also at Cornell, was titled Inquest: The Warren Commission and the Establishment of Truth. His Harvard Ph.D. (1973) was on "The selection of reality on network news."

Epstein writes the "Hollywood Economist" column for Slate.com.
