Ian Lawrence (born 1938 in Australia) is a Wellington lawyer, and was the Mayor of Wellington from 1983 to 1986. He was educated at North Sydney Boys High School and University of Sydney.^{citation needed} He was previously Chairman of the National Housing Commission.
