Perkins and Will (historically written "Perkins & Will", and more recently "Perkins+Will") is an architectural firm established in Chicago in 1935 by Larry Perkins and Philip Will, Jr.1 Perkins and Will gained national and international recognition for designing projects in education and health care.1
In recent years, the firm has grown through mergers and acquisitions. Today, Perkins and Will has about 1,200 employees in 20 offices and has completed projects in 49 states and 43 countries around the world.1 The firm has received a number of awards including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 1999 Firm of the Year award. It is highly regarded as a design firm, in part, led by the works of Ralph Johnson.2 The firm has recently attained additional prominence with its promotion of sustainability in architecture and has more than 700 LEED accredited professionals.
Dar Al-Handasah owns a minority share of Perkins and Will.
