Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport that originated in England and is now played in more than 100 countries. A cricket match is contested by two teams, usually of eleven players each¹ and is played on a grass field in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 22 yards (20 m) long called a pitch. A wicket, usually made of wood, is placed at each end of the pitch and used as a target.

The object of each team is to score more "runs" than the other team and so win the game.

Paul David Collingwood MBE (born 26 May 1976, Shotley Bridge, Durham), is an English cricketer. He is vice-captain of Durham County Cricket Club and plays Test and One-day International cricket for England.

Collingwood is an all-rounder, combining natural strokeplay with reliable medium-pace bowling. Described as a "natural athlete", he is also a highly skilled fielder and is regarded as one of the finest of his contemporaries. In 2005, Collingwood made the best all-round performance in a One-day International, with 112* and 6/31 against Bangladesh.

Tendulkar has scored a total of 40 centuries in Test matches and 42 centuries in ODIs, each of which is a world record. He is yet to score a century in a Twenty20 international cricket match.
